Since when do cats have nine lives.
If this was not a History Corner I would ask why do cats have nine lives?? However considering that it is The History Corner let us see since when the Cats have nine lives...
One thing to note about cats is what I saw yesterday, I went to my friends house and sat with a group of people, and well we all soon got up to leave and thats when I noticed that, on the sofa I was sitting there was a curled up black cat and I had not even noticed!!
And I was pretty shocked when I was told that it was there all the time.
So such things might lead to a lot of superstitions in older times when the people were not used to flying machines and underwater vehicles of war!
Also if you read this article you will see how cats kill otters with their poop. So this way we can understand how cats can have high survival rates, they put an end to their hunters.
Chia: Otters don't specifically hunt cats!
Aaah well that obviously changes stuff. Anyway so what I was going to say next was that cats consider being stared at a threat so obviously they would not try to be seen and hence avoid danger of any sorts.
Chia: But so they would also avoid people admiring them... hey thats wierd I thought cats liked to be pampered!!
Ya well that may be the case... but what I was trying to say was that they are also very supple and nimble compared to other small furry animals, so naturally people thought they have nine lives!

(Sometimes I wonder whether Chia has any understanding at all..... imagine cats having nine lives!! Who would say such a thing!!)
